Networks and partnerships
The Management Science Doctoral School was jointly established by ULg (HEC – Management School), ULB (Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management) and UM (Maastricht University - Warocqué Faculty).
In the framework of research partnership and external community service projects, we work with Grenoble University, HEC-Montréal, IAE of Lille, University of Lille I, the Management School of University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne .
HEC-ULg has also gained the support of an international network of universities with which it develops various forms of partnerships. Prisme has created an International Scientific Committee in order to associate top level scientific figures in the School’s different research areas with the assessment of its scientific output and the conception of its main strategic orientations with regard to research. This committee has the following members:
- Mats ALVESSON: Professor of Business Administration, Lund University, Sweden.
- Eve CHIAPELLO: Professor of Accounting and Management Control at HEC-Paris.
- Thierry FONTENELLE: Head of General Affairs Department at Translation Center for the Bodies of the European Union, Luxembourg.
- Gilbert LAPORTE: Titular Professor of Operational Research at HEC Montreal, Canada Research Chair in Distribution Studies.
- Sophie MANIGART: Professor at Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School and at Ghent University, Program Director of Master's Degrees in Financial Management at Vlerick.
- Joseph MAZZOLA: Dean of the Belk College of Business, Professor of Business Information Systems and Operation Management, University of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC, USA.
- Franz PALM: Academy Professor in Econometrics at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
- Fred SCHROYEN: Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
- Paul VERLUYTEN: Professor of Intercultural Communication at Antwerp University.
Several of our professors are members of international editorial panels of journals, including: Economica, Journal of Scheduling (Quarterly Journal of Operations Research), Annals of Public & Cooperative Economics and La Revue de Gestion des Ressources Humaines.
Our Research Center on Gender, Diversity and Women’s Entrepreneurship is involved in two international networks. One of these is Euregional and includes Belgian French and Flemish language Universities and Dutch Universities. The other includes Universities in Sweden, France, Ireland, Spain, USA and the UK.
We also participate in European programmes such as the framework program, Interreg and the European Social Fund.
Two honoris causa doctorates were awarded during 2010 to scientific figures nominated by HEC-ULg: Professor Philippe Jorion (University of California) and Professor Dennis R. Young (Georgia State University). In 2008, Professor Egon Balas (Carnegie Mellon School of Business) and Professor Geert Hofstede (Tilburg University) received this honor.
Nous participons également à des programmes européens du type programme cadre, Interreg et Fonds Social Européen.
Deux docteurs honoris causa ont été décernés au cours de l’année 20010 à des personnalités scientifiques proposées par HEC-ULg: le Professeur Philippe Jorion (University of California) et le Professeur Dennis R. Young (Georgia State University). En 2008, le Professeur Egon Balas (Carnegie Mellon School of Business) et le Professeur Geert Hofstede (Tilburg University) avaient déjà eu cet honneur.
