We are proud to let you know that the School Board, which gathered on June 29th, 2017, has appointed, following a strict process, Wilfried NIESSEN, as Director General and Dean of HEC Liège, subject to approval by the Administrative Board of the University of Liege that will gather in July.
At the head of the School for a 2-year term, renewable after assessment, Wilfried Niessen knows perfectly the institution: he has been working at HEC Liege for many years and he has assumed various responsibilities within the School, such as lecturer, programs manager and academic director. Speaking four languages and being very active in the business world, he has already attended some high-level trainings. He is also the founder of several companies that are active in the fields of information technologies, accountability and taxation.
Wilfried Niessen can rely on strong governance bodies, which have been recently renewed. Bernard DELVAUX, CEO of SONACA, has been appointed as President of the Governance Board of HEC Liege. Together with two vice-Presidents, Philippe NIESTEN, CIO of FN Herstal and Laurent WEERTS, Partner Deloitte Belgique, they represent an international-oriented team that is continuously open to the world. The School can also rely on the University of Liege with which we are working extremely closely.
As we move towards the academic year 2017-2018, HEC Liege looks into the future with serenity, in the wake of its strategic guidelines about continuing improvement, the internationalisation, the accreditation of the School and the intensification of its relationships with the business world. The School is mindful about its students and alumni, which is why it invests in quality teaching and in its academic research that is structured around 7 peaks of excellence.
HEC Liege, which has special partnerships with the corporate world, highlights ambitious policies in the Executive Education field. In 2016, the School recorded more than 100 000 hours of training that were given to more than 1700 participants coming from the business world and public services.
