Anchored in international tax law and applied to global operations, customs compliance has become strategic to the development of international trade operations.
|The European Commission recognises The Master’s of specialisation in Tax Law - Customs Compliance academic programme, delivered by the University of Liège, Belgium, as a high-quality customs-specific study programme, that is in line with the EU Competency Framework for the Customs profession (CustCompEU) and its associated EU Reference Training Programmes for Academic Customs Education.|
NEW PROGRAM : the Specialization Master in Tax Law with a focus on Customs Compliance is the result of a collaboration between HEC Liège - School of Management of the University of Liège - and the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology of the University of Liège.
Anchored in international tax law and applied to global operations, customs compliance has become strategic to the development of international trade operations. The considerable increase in the logistical flows in recent years and the changes pertaining to the regulations and the environment of global trade have led to the need for economic operators to develop new skills in customs and excise.
The aforementioned context led these two faculties of the University of Liège to create a new programme which aims at acquiring in-depth skills in customs compliance and international trade operations at the global level.
The programme covers European and international taxation, operations management and international trade law. The courses offered in customs legislation are taught in a pragmatic way by numerous guest experts from international organizations (WCO, WTO, European Commission) and from administrations and the private sector.
Students will be able to advise and implement a customs compliance process throughout a company's supply chain. They will use their knowledge to approach the customs regime as a cost reduction opportunity in a global trade development strategy. Specialized in tax law, they will be adapt to new regulations and anticipate future threats.
This programme was developed by HEC Liège and the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Criminology of the University of Liège with the support of Liège Airport and the Walloon Export Agency (AWEX).
