FOUNDATION MODULE: MANAGEMENT TOOLS – ESTABLISH BASIC MANAGERIAL SKILLS
The MBA Foundation Module is common to the options of the Master in Management. The OpenBordersMBA offers the possibility to skip the first module by taking a test or by experience being taken into account.
In this prerequisite module OpenBordersMBA, candidates are introduced into the main functional field of management with courses in accounting, business law, marketing basics, and management of organizations. Furthermore, the module may, if needed, contain courses in business English and overall CIT tools. The goal of this preparatory module is to give the candidate a basic understanding of topics in management including the fundamental terminology to build upon in the three following modules.
Credits: 30 ECTS
Status: Prerequisite module - Mandatory and customized module for candidates without any management background (e.g. Master).
Specific goal: Establishing basic managerial skills related to the main functions of business

Location: HEC Campus & online courses
Schedule: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 6 pm to 9 pm and on-line courses and/or Saturday

Specific goal: to supply the students with a set of key basic tools to build their skills in marketing strategy.
An integrated approach Attractiveness and competitiveness analysis: Strategic decisions making process.
At the end of the seminar the students will be able to: Understand and apply key strategic marketing concepts such as segmentation, targeting, and positioning. Analyze current marketing issues
Become familiar with the most important manager's responsibility: decision-making
The teaching method is interactive, inductive and based on real business cases analysis.
