Finance

Why?

Financial products are becoming increasingly sophisticated and the tools of financial engineering are becoming increasingly complex.  The internationalization of capital markets augments the complexity of the problems to be dealt with.  Financial managers are faced, on a daily basis, with questions of coverage for risks of exchange rates and interest rates.

The objective of the Finance option is to learn to master

  • the various financial markets (international markets, futures, conditional markets etc.)
  • advanced financial management techniques such as optimum management of portfolios.

How?

This training combines

  • theory and practice: all the theoretical elements discussed are illustrated by concrete cases
  • quantitative aspects (modeling, algorithms etc.) of the mechanics of financial products and management methods
  • IT tools and multimedia technology (for example, use of the Salle des Marchés (“Market Room”), a financial simulation tool that is unique in the Community of Wallonia-Brussels.  This is a room equipped with the best financial information interfaces and modules simulating stock exchange operations.

Who is it for?

This high-level programme is aimed at university graduates who already have training or experience in the field of management and wish to develop their skills and competences in financial management.

This course orientation is particularly relevant to executives whose job is to manage funds, assets or the financial management of a company, or whose objective is financial management in a large company, a banking institution or an insurance company.

This training as well aptly prepares candidates for the CFAI programme. The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) programme of the AIMR (Association for Investment Management and Research), which is already well known in the financial services industry, has become an international reference in the financial world.

Certifications / Title awarded

The candidate registered for one or more modules receives a certificate of attendance and/or achievement for the courses attended and/or passed. These certificates are accepted by the Belgian and Luxembourg IREs to obtain exemptions from the theoretical training examinations, and are also recognized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors in the context of the continuous training obligations.

Title awarded: Specialization Master in Financial Risk Management, option Finance.
