Erasmus Mobility

In order to develop the student’s international exposure, HEC Liège offers several options to achieve an international experience both at the Bachelor level and at the Master level. Students can choose for a mobility inside Europe (Erasmus scheme) or outside Europe (bilateral agreement). The courses attended abroad are recognized as an integral part of the student curriculum. These mobility periods take place during the Fall semester.

At the bachelor level:

Block 3

  • Erasmus/exchange stay abroad or Erasmus Belgica: more than 100 destinations with courses in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish ;
  • Double degree at the University of Hohenheim in Germany.

At the master level:

Block 1

  • Erasmus/exchange stay abroad or Erasmus Belgica: more than 100 destinations with courses in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish ;
  • Double degree program: the moment for the mobility depends on the program. The double degree students will get the diploma from HEC Liège and from the host university;
  • Summer school: short stay abroad during the summer, combining courses, company visits and cultural activities;

Block 2

Each year more than 160 students apply for one of these study abroad programs. The courses taken abroad represent about 30 ECTS out of 120 ECTS for the whole master program or out of 180 ECTS for the whole bachelor program.

A matching procedure ensures that all courses taken at partner universities are approved in terms of contents, workload and ECTS credits.

In 2019-20, the Erasmus after-mobility survey reported high levels of satisfaction among the students as shown below:

  • 94%: satisfied or very satisfied with their mobility experience
  • 70%: satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of the courses
  • 68%: satisfied or very satisfied with the teaching methods
  • 87%: improved their language skills
